I am currently training to become a primary school teacher, and when finished, I will be qualified to teach children from the ages of 4-12. I adore working with children, and in the past I have worked with children of a variety of ages. I assisted primary school teachers in Holy Family Primary school every June from 2013. I worked as a classroom assistant in St Sylvester’s Infant School in Malahide during Transition Year in 2014. (In 2017 I returned to the school for my teaching placement). I taught computer skills to retired ladies and gentlemen in Malahide Library during Transition Year, and have also worked in the library crèche. I have completed a number of Teaching Practices including teaching: 1st Class in St Sylvester's Infant School - March - April 2017 3rd Class in Holywell Educate Together National School - April - May 2018 4th Class in Pope John Paul's National School - September - November 2018 Senior Infants in Holywell Educate Together National School - November - December 2018 Voluntary work has become a big part of my life within recent years, and I have dedicated many of my most recent summers towards helping causes close to my heart. I worked as a volunteer in the Central Remedial Clinic’s Summer Camp Project for children with disabilities in 2015 and 2016. I have also worked with Cycle Against Suicide to help raise money for the organisation. I recently worked with children ranging from the age of 1 -10 in Clontarf crèche (from June 2017-September 2017). I absolutely adored the job! I found the work so fulfilling and enjoyable, and think that it is such a privilege to play such an important role in the life of a young child. I also returned to the creche from June - September 2018. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. Recently, I attended a Baby and Toddler First Aid Course, organised by St John's Ambulance. The course has provided me with the skills necessary to apply best practice in First Aid, as well as being able to render assistance to a toddler/baby/child until relevant emergency help arrives.
