I am a 27 year old Irish female with a degree in Psychology and Sociology, and Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy, and ample experience with children, in both a childcare and teaching capacity. My primary degree in Psychology and Sociology and my psychotherapy training has given me a great depth of knowledge about child development which I feel is an asset informing any involvement I have with children. Recently, I took care of an 8 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. My role involved collecting them from school, assisting them with homework, taking them to and from extra-curricular activities some days, coming up with a variety of fun activities and games, preparing meals and some light cleaning. I have been babysitting children of all ages since the age of 14. In 2008, as part of my degree in the University of Limerick, I worked as an English Teacher and Activities Monitor in Spain for 5 months. This role involved teaching English to children, aged 6-19 years, through games and activities from beach games, obstacle courses and races, to orienteering, horse-riding, archery and kayaking. That summer, I also co-organised children's summer camps for children aged 4-12 years old. As a result I feel confident in my ability to engage and stimulate children of all ages with a variety of activities. In 2010, I moved to London and worked as a live-in au-pair for three little girls (4 year old twins and a 2 year old) for 6 months. I prepared meals, got them ready for school, did school-runs sometimes, did homework with the twins, played games with them, bathed them, and put them to bed. I co-hosted play-dates and parties, brought them on outings and did household duties such as cleaning and tidying up. I also babysat regularly for two other families for the two years I spent in London. This was a wonderful experience. By nature, I am fun-loving, friendly, creative, hard-working and committed.
