I returned to Ireland in January 2012, following early graduation from my secondary education in the United States. I am currently living in tipperary but i am willing to travel. I spent the last 3 years engaging in some foundational education, upon which I hope to build a more specialized course of study in the future.During my high school education, I was involved in many extra-curricular activities, all of which have given me many different perspectives. During my time as a peer mediator, I gained experience in developing my communication skills, problem solving skills, as well as facilitating others in making their own choices in order to develop their own road to independence. During the course of my nursing studies, I gained a higher understanding of the key stages of human development. Having a sister with special needs, I chose to complete a project which highlighted the possible areas in which the daily life of a child with special needs may differ from that of an average child. I gained an understanding of the importance of routine, intellect, self-concept and social skills, and how they can differ from one person to the next. This has helped me embrace my relationship with my sister and understand why her needs can be significantly different to that of another child of the same age or ability. I worked for a family in Thurles from January to May of 2016, when they relocated. I also helped raise my younger sister who has special needs.
