My name is Katia, I am 25 years old and I was raised and born in Los Cabos, Mexico. Los Cabos is a tourist destination and for the last two years I worked at a big resort just in front of the beach. I decided that I want it to have new experiences and improve my english and Dublin opened the doors for me. Since I was 13 years old, my mom, my sister and I, we have all sort of created a booklist with all of our kids in Cabo. We had more than 16 families and when I was at school or my mom was working at her main job, my sister Kenia was ready for the job. On vacations, I used to live in the houses for almost a month, most of the people we worked with were foreigners (Americans, canadiens, frenchs) I have been babysitting for a long time now, I even babysat when I was working at the resort. Is something that I really like to do and that I enjoy. I have experience with toddlers, twins, sick kids, with divorced parents, with parents that work at home, even teaching to a group of 10-12 kids, with one 8months old baby and his 7years old brother (the most difficult). With babies with autism, with kids with bad behavior and I did have some difficulties with some of them but it all depends on what the family wants from you, Do they want a change? Do they only want someone to keep an eye on them? Do they want you to teach them something? Most of the families were like my family and I had the opportunity to watched my kids grow, like baby Daniel that I watched him grow from a 3 months old baby to a 5 years old kid. I still remember what I felt when he said my name for the first time. :) I also worked in the USA as an au pair for a few months, I was supposed to be there for 1 year but it didn't work out, I was in distress for things that were going on back in Mexico (hurricane Odile, september 2014) and my host mom was worried that I was in depression because I didn't wanted to go out. At the end I decided that in fact I wasn't ready to be far from home and that I wanted to bring Cabo up again and I helped my mom to build our home because it was destroyed by the hurricane. This time I am more mature and I know everyone at home is safe. My sister Kenia is currently living in The Netherlands and of course she is an Au Pair there. I arrived only one week ago and I am currently studying English at Ibat school. I am in the afternoon but if I find the right job for me I can change it to the morning clases from 9 to 12.15. The course is for 6 months and my visa is for 8 months. Right now I don't think that I am going to stay more than that but it all depends how I feel at the end of school.
