Full time, live in (own flat), dementia carer to join our care team in the Irish countryside (near Cork) We are looking for an anchor member to help manage our care team, liaise with the family, and spend some of their time caring for our mother with dementia. Libby is an independent, kind, educated and fun loving woman in the mid to later stages of dementia. She currently manages her own personal care and toileting, and is physically fit and mobile. We have a dedicated and professional team that cover days and nights. We pride ourselves on working as a team and supporting all our staff members. It’s important that everyone feels respected, listened to and their input valued. Her long-time main carer is leaving, and we are looking for a live-in core member to join the team. You will be living in a recently refurbished flat in a beautiful old Georgian house in its own gardens by the sea. You must be kind, organised and ready to work as part of a team, with at least four years dementia experience, a full clean drivers licence, police checks, and professional references. You will spend approximately twenty-seven hours with Libby each week, and 3-5 hours on admin, all to be confirmed, including at least one 12 hour weekend day time shift. You will have at least two full 24 hour periods off each week, and paid leave in line with Irish employment laws. The remainder of your hours would be ‘floating’, reserved to cover ‘emergencies’ such as illness in other team members resulting in them not being able to come in, or covering for occasional holidays, including the odd night, so some flexibility would be necessary. Your hours would average no more than 40 per week. Competive salary and own one bedroom flat attached to main house, gas, electricity and internet, access to a car, work mobile phone.
