Hello, We are a professional couple in Galway City looking for a caring, responsible and experienced nanny / childminder/ babysitter to care for our little boy who is three (3) years old. Sadly our little man was recently diagnosed with leukaemia and will not be in a position to return to creche. Mum and Dad have been his sole carers for the past 7 months. We are seeking a genuine caring and trustworthy person who has a real love of children, will get down and play, have fun, play music and/or sing and see things at the his level and get to know and understand him. The person should have a very bubbly personality and a gentle streak and should be someone who can create a stimulating atmosphere and can keep his attention occupied. You will be a nanny / childcarer with at least 5 years experience in nannying, child care, au pair or babysitting work. You should be mature, clean, reliable, punctual and well presented and eager to learn administering medications and supporting his illness. The intention would be to introduce you to our child gradually a few hours every few days and then work occasional days/evenings/weekends with the intention of it becoming a 3/4 day week of childminding with some babysitting the occassional wkd. You will appreciate that when you are separated from your seriously ill child, even if only for a few hours or by a couple of miles, the time spent apart can feel like an agonizing gulf of anxiety and dread so it's important we find the right fit for us both. I would like to think we are a very warm, fun loving and engaging family. We are a non-smoking household and would prefer a non-smoker. Your responsibilities will include: Some cleaning and general housekeeping and preparing meals for our son and more importantly keeping him happy and entertained. You will need a current First Aid certificate, Garda Vetting, and a driver’s licence. A Certificate in Child Care will also be highly regarded. References a necessity
