I am looking for an extremely kind, reliable, honest and positive person to support both my parents, who are elderly. My Mum is incredibly loyal and kind as a person with a real joi de vivre. My Dad is very quick witted and funny, reliable and honest. Whoever feels they are the right person for this role will offer both my parents support, respect and companionship. Ideally, the right person will have experience and an understanding of Alzheimers, which my Mum was sadly diagnosed with last year. Thankfully, it has not changed her wonderful positive character too much, and despite her 86 years, she is always up for getting out and about. She has even begun working with a personal trainer once a week having never done any fitness in her life! It's never too late! She thrives on the company of others but her short term memory now inhibits her from initiating meetings with friends like she used to. I would love for someone to enrich her life by taking her out and about so she can live her best life every day, while she is as well as she is. Her Alzheimers does mean that she now needs more day to day care, which is why my Dad and I are seeking the right person to support us with giving Mum the very best care she deserves. She now needs reminders to eat breakfast and lunch, take her medication and with her personal care. Ideally, the right person will have their own transport to be able to sometimes facilitate doctor's appointments (if my Dad or I cannot), meetings with friends or take Mum out for coffees and engage/encourage her in activities occasionally. More recently, having been the most incredible cook and baker, she has stopped cooking so if you enjoy cooking, that would be a great support to both my parents when I am not there. If you feel that you might be the right person to support our family, we would love to hear from you.
