Professional American couple working in education permanently settled in Ireland with two sons (6.5 and 3 years) looking for regular help in our home on primarily on weekday afternoons and the occasional evening or weekend day. (We live near 84 and 184 bus stops or about a 20-minute walk from the Greystones DART station.) YOU ARE ready to roll with two energetic and creative kiddos bringing patience, a love of the outdoors (garden, beach, walks, games), a healthy yet flexible approach to food (light food prep for kids), a good sense of humour and an appreciation for silly games. We’ve had great experiences with carers who are studying for have degrees in early childhood education. Language skills in Irish, French, Chinese, or Spanish would also be a plus. Live-out au pair responsibilities (25 hours per week): Collection at preschool (1 PM, starting in September) and school collection (125 PM) – we can provide car or both can be reached by bus Supervising after-school outdoor play (walks, scooting/biking, puttering in garden, going to the beach) and indoor activities (creative activities like arts and crafts, dancing are big hits, but also reading--and some ‘down time’ independent play is encouraged). Please note that screen time is minimal in our home. Taking children to/from activities as needed. -Morning tidy and laundry help for children's clothes. -Occasional light shopping/errands (as in, to the corner shop if we run out of milk). -Snack and light meal prep and clean up for kids' meals. Hours: needed from mid-May. 1pm -5pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, plus one Thursday a month staying later to 9 pm. Please note start hours are based on school collections. They can run through the summer, or you could arrange other hours for the summer. Occasional additional evening or regular Sunday babysitting scheduled in advance.
