We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic part time special needs assistant to work with an 11 year old boy. You’ll be working with a 11 year old boy who has autism and speech difficulties. You will need to be creative, energetic and committed to engaging with him whilst monitoring his progress. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference to children’s lives by enabling them to learn, thrive and achieve. You will need to have experience working with children with special needs and have good communication skills both written and verbal. Skills required: - Minimum of two years experience working with children with special needs or children with learning disabilities. - Minimum of FETAC Level 5 award in Social Care , Children with special needs childcare ( at least one of the above will suffice). - Experience of report writing ( you must have the ability of writing reports of the child’s progress). - Must be comfortable to pick up and drop the young boy off to social events ( play groups, football etc). - You must be friendly, approachable, compassionate and enjoy working with children with special needs. - You must be available to interview next week and start the following week. Essential criteria: 1. Garda Clearence 2. Full driving license 3. You must provide two recent references 4.
