Hi there. I’m a married Mum of 45 years of age, which I guess would class me as a Mature woman. :) I have an 8 year old and a 7 year old and have some experience with additional needs. I started babysitting 7 years ago in local Hotels and discovered that I really ‘’get’’ children of all ages. Whether it’s their honesty, their humour or their love of life, they relax with me and tend to have fun. I have been given the name Mary Poppins by many of those who return to Kenmare a few times and ask for me in advance. I guess maybe that’s because I know how hard it is to leave my own two children and trust them with someone I don’t know. I try and remember patience, warmth and genuine affection for anyone I look after. That might be the two year old who cries for Mum; the 8 year old who wanted to stay at the party or even the 6 month old who has started teething. I try and care for them like I would my own two kids. I am Garda Vetted and do some volunteering work locally. I have a Pediatric First Aid Certificate and cope well under pressure. I don’t panic and will always contact you if ever there is am emergency situation or your child is very distressed. I can be trusted to put their care first. I have quite a substantial kit that I carry with me - colouring; stickers; mazes; words searches; paper collage; painting at times; up to date movies and of course the very important bedtime story. (I still love Julia Donaldson!). I also love to laugh sounds corny, but it’s true! If I can help at all, please pick up the phone and we can have a chat and I’ll answer any questions that I can.
