My name is Megan, I am 21 years of age. I am originally from Wexford but moved to Cork 4 years ago. I am progressing into my final year of Commerce at UCC. Currently I should be working full time as a part of my college placement in an accounting firm. However, with the current situation, my employer's company is closed and this has been cancelled. I have 2 sisters and my older sister has Down Syndrome. Having a sister with special needs has helped shape me into a caring and patient person. I began babysitting kids when I was 16 years of age. My first job was looking after two boys aged 6 and 10 Monday-Friday. The job involved getting the boys up and dressed in the morning, making/cooking them breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also had to keep the children entertained for the duration of the day. I did this by playing different games each day, doing arts and crafts, playing outside etc. I also did housework throughout the day to help out their parents. This included, dressing the beds, hoovering, cleaning up after playtime and food time and also putting on some washing if necessary. I had this job for 2 summers before beginning to work in my local shop. I have also babysat children for a day/night for different families. These children ranged from newborn to 12 years of age. There are many young children in my wider family which I have been trusted to take care of. As a result, I have experience with all age groups, including babies. I am very safe and reliable, all the while energetic and playful. I like to keep the children I look after occupied and ensure they are having fun, that way they do not get bored and their day flies by. I am aware that every child is different so I will gauge from the child what it is they want to do or what works best for them. I have my own transport with a clean Full Irish License and I am a non smoker. I have a certificate in Food Hygiene and CPR training. I live in a two bed house in a respectable area in Douglas with my partner who will be working. My home is safe for children and also has a green area for them to play outside. As a result, I am able to take care of the children at my home, or in their own home, whichever suits your needs the best. I can assure you, if you choose me to look after your children, they will be well looked after, safe and happy, most importantly. I look forward to hearing from you.
