Hello everyone! I am an enthusiastic, highly qualified and experienced carer who can provide professional, personal, client centred healthcare support. Providing healthcare has never been just a job for me since my role in healthcare began as a volunteer. I enjoy creating empowering relationships which help Clients to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. Since 2017 I have worked in residential care, home care and the voluntary sector. Being both a good listener, both verbal and non-verbal and providing one-to-one support builds an effective therapeutic relationship. This is the singular reason I prefer to work in private care. I respect the trust, privacy and unique boundaries of my clients who invite me into their home. I am responsible, reliable and ensure that my clients are safe and comfortable before I leave their home. In my work I am also skilful, flexible and patient which I have been told makes me a great carer. I especially enjoy assisting my clients with rehabilitation exercises prescribed by their physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist etc. as I have a particular interest, and additional qualifications to assist in these areas. Helping clients improve their mobility and balance is of special interest to me. I also particularly enjoy helping clients maintain important life skills in Dementia Care. Although I take my work very seriously I also bring a smile and a sense of humour where appropriate. In my experience music, laughter and a little cake can truly be the best medicine.
