I started teaching when I was in the second semester of University. As soon as I started University I took part in a program that has focus on education and research and I was a part of it for 4 years when I graduated. While in the program, I took part in the preparation of didactic material. This material became the book of a discipline called "Basic Physics" that I and other students from the program created. This discipline was attended by beginners and I taught it for 2 years. It was created to help to diminish the failure in Calculus 1 and Physics 1. Also during my University time, I worked as a tutor in a lot of science fairs where we would have a stand and present a collection of scientific experiments to kids and adults. The funniest one was making instant ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Besides my university experiences, I have been private tutoring mainly secondary school, high school and college newcomers for more than 6 years. --------------------------------------------------------------- I believe there are some important steps to be followed while studying the exact sciences. The first thing I like to do is chat a little bit with the student to make us both comfortable and to identify where are most of the difficulties. After that, I usually divide my classes into two parts: theory and practice. The first part consists of reviewing the theory and smoothing any potential misunderstandings throughout real examples. In the second part, I ask the student to try some exercises and help them with the correct train of thought, which is an essential skill when solving numerical problems. If I see that the student is finding it easy, I might asked him to explain the theory to me and then I go a little deeper.
