I am currently working as a voluntary mentor at Big Brother Big Sister Organisation in Athlone. During the application process I was required to attend an interview and complete a Garda clearance aswell as complete child protection training that is accredited with the DYCA in Ireland. I spend one to one time to help with confidence building and to be a role model for a youth that I was chosen to work with doing a variety of activities that take place each week. The activities may range from baking, walking, cycling, animation projects, going to the local playground, bowling, cinema and arts and crafts. I thoroughly enjoy being a volunteer with Big Brother Big Sister, I find it a rewarding experience. I have my full level 5 and 6 in childcare, occupational First aid and essential experience. I really enjoy arts and crafts with children: mask making, teaching them how to use paints, colours and different materials. I am not a qualified dance teacher but enjoy dancing. I enjoy nature and I believe it is important that children show an interest and taught about the world around them.
