I am a very fun and energetic person. I feel like I get on very well with children as I can match their energy and genuinely enjoy answering any questions or queries that they may have. I like reading and learning more and would love to impart my love for learning on any child I may mind. I love the outdoors and would be very creative as to coming up with fun activities to do with your children. I am passionate about the arts as well as learning about science and history. I love when children care about creating things, learning how things work etc and would be delighted to engage with them. I have worked as a carer since I was 12 for my sister with an intellectual disability. Through this I have learned how to mind a house and to cook good wholesome meals. Because of my sister I have travelled to Lourdes as a carer when I was 17 and then acted as a chaperone when I was 18 with the Special Olympics at the national games in Limerick. I have a passion for bringing out the best in others and understanding what makes them happy. I attained a reputation for being the favourite amongst the younger athletes as I had so much energy and was always willing to speak to them. In addition to this I have minded our neighbour who has special needs. The role for the summer that I minded her was very similar to that of an Au Pair. I prepared meals, played outside and inside, took her for trips into town and did general housework. I have been a childminder for different neighbours, who were various ages. I have experience with very young children and teenagers and have gotten on well with all of them. I am a socially conscious person and have shown this through various aspects of my life. I will be receiving my gold Gaisce medal this winter. Aside from this I will be the Seretary for Trinity's film society, an Ordinary Committee Member for Trinity's Global Development Society, the festival co-ordinator for Trinity Suas' 8x8 Art Festival as well as being the Officer for Students with Disabilities over the next year. In addition to this my friend Niamh and I have set up and are running the charity 'Disability and I' which focuses on empowering and educating people as well as working towards ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. I am a very passionate person and when I care about something I throw myself into in 110%, I can assure you that this will most definitely be the case if you chose me to be your Au Pair. I feel like I have a huge range of experience and passion to bring to this role. I get along with everyone I meet and genuinely just like making the world a happier place.
