Dear Family, I’m Stella, a 23 year old Brazilian that is currently living in Dublin for a period. My first language is, of course, Portuguese, but I’m fluent in English. I’d like to be a childminder to improve my English and to fully live the Irish culture in a Family. I am nevertheless aware that learning a language within a classroom context is by itself, incomplete. So, in order to really improve my speaking skills, I feel that a cultural immersion would do me a lot of good. Through my language teachers, I have learnt a lot about the countries where people speak English, Ireland included. Due to my desire to have first hand experience of Irish life, I am particularly interested in experiencing family life in Ireland, since it offers a cultural context that is undoubtedly different from mine. For this reason, I would very much like to find a nice family to work for in Dublin. I used to help my neighbor by taking care of her daughter Lara until I turned 18, then, I started teaching English at a language school in my city. I taught kids from 4 years, teenagers and adults. My job involved, preparing classes, lessons, cultural classes, presentations, plays, cooking classes and outside school classes. I have also been involved in my nieces and nephew education, since my brother and sister in law work full time. Our time together involves recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sing, dance, play games, role play, draw, paint, and narrate stories. I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with kids. I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you: to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences; to learn more about your family; your interests and to know more about what you expect from the job arrangement.
