Hello I am a friendly, reliable, caring and outgoing person who loves sports and the outdoors. I have a number of years experience working with children and young people of all ages being both a babysitter and also previously working as a support foster carer. I have a full first aid certificate and DBS Check (equivalent Garda Vetting) as part of my previous role as a support worker. I have attended numerous courses relating to the protection of vulnerable adults and child protection and have certificates relating to supporting children and young people with additional support needs. I also have experience of caring for children from the ages of 2-11 in the Care System. In Wales I was an F2 foster carer alongside my mother who was a full time foster carer. I regularly worked alongside social workers and other professionals and attended core meetings and child protection meetings and LAC reviews relating to the children in our care. In 2013 I volunteered with Homestart Cardiff as a family support worker to provide emotional support to families in need of additional support due to varying needs including emotional support, children with challenging behaviours and disabilities, multiple births and parenting support. In 2005 and 2006 I volunteered with the HCPT, Welsh Pilgrimage to Lourdes. This was a one week trip where I went with other volunteers to France working alongside children and adults with disabilities and additional needs. This trip gives the children and adults with many types of disabilities and opportunity to experience a stimulating and highly enjoyable group holiday.
