My name is Rowena and I am 25 years old. I am a qualified health care assistant and have also completed a QQI level 5 in Special Needs Assistance. I work full time as a care assistant for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in a community hub where promoting independence and autonomy in a safe and caring environment is one of our main objectives. Before this I worked in a residential home for adults with ID's. I am trained in CPR, Manual handling, Epilepsy and buccal midazolam administration, safe guarding vulnerable people and Fire safety. I have experience in personal care and one to one tutoring. Aside from my professional experience with people with ID's, I also have grown up with a brother with an intellectual disability so have a personal interest in providing a standard of care that I would want for my own family member. I am trustworthy, responsible and hard working and have a genuine love for this type of work. I am looking for evening or weekend work as I work full time from Monday to Friday and am just looking for some extra hours here and there. I am also available for babysitting roles and have years of experience caring for neighbours and family members children. I have also completed work experience in a special needs primary school so have experience working with children with a range of needs.
