My name is Erin Higgins I am 24 years of age.I am Irish I was born in Ireland and have lived here my whole life .I am a qualified Carer I have three and a half years experience in healthcare I worked in a private homecare company for three and a half years caring for people in their homes I’ve worked in clondalkin ,balleyfermot , Lucan , inchicore -and Palmerstown I do not drive but I have a full licensed driver who can bring me to the areas mentioned above every weekday and weekend morning ,lunch , afternoon and night time I have cared for special needs people with behaviour problems and mental health problems, young people who have had a stroke /are paralysed from the waist down ,I have cared for clinically obese clients , clients with advanced and non advanced dementia and Alzheimer’s , clients with multiple sclerosis, a special needs client who needed no personal care and just companionship and to be brought on a bus to Stewart’s once a week and I would supervise my client in the gym and sit on the sidelines whilst my client swam giving gentle encouragement and support ,I would go once a week on day trips to give my clients family member and full time Carer a break for 3/4 hours twice weekly , I’ve provided personal care everyday for bed bound clients ,I’ve assisted clients who are semi mobile using a walking frame to use the commode or toilet and I’ve assisted them in any of their toileting needs ,I have experience with clients that have a catheter and those who have a colostomy bag I have emptied them several times and also reattached them if the bag was broken with the help of another Carer , I’ve used a hoist several times with the assistance of another Carer or a qualified family member, I’ve worked with clients who are wheelchair users I’ve worked with some aggressive , clients before and take it in my stride each time I am incredibly patient ,caring ,understanding ,reliable ,punctual and emphatic I treat every client with the upmost respect and dignity that they deserve at all times .my only stipulation is that I only work/care for female clients of all ages I don’t provide care for male clients nor have I ever in my Three and a half years as a Carer ,I can provide references from my former clients
