Hi, My name is Nicola. I am living in the Northside of Dublin and the Mother of a 9 year old daughter. My passion in life is helping people and caring for people. I am always one to put others before myself. I am qualified in Childcare and have my Fetac Level 5 Certificate, I am also a First Aid Responder I will soon have an Award in Nutrition. I am trust worthy, reliable, hard working and live an active and healthy lifestyle. I am a Non smoker and although I do not have a car at present, I have a full clean drivers licence. I am also garda vetted. I am musical and I play the piano and I am a "sit on the floor and interact with children" Kind of person. I love to read and sing with the children as this is necessary for helping build language skills and all while having fun!!. I believe that eye contact, listening and being enthusiastic are what makes a good childminder. My strong points are that I am reliable, excellent timekeeping and have a keen interest in helping children who struggle with homework (Maths, Projects & English). I have an awareness in hitting all areas of a child's development through play, stimulation and communication. At the moment I look after an 18 month old girl and have been since she was a newborn. I looked after her full-time but due to her parents work shifts, I help out on some weekends now. During my full-time hours I had written a daily diary about what we did and new things she learned that day. I understand that it can be difficult to leave your child but it is some comfort to know that I will not allow you to miss out on their daily lives and activities. I also worked in a creche and Montessori and I have references available on request. Although I liked working in the creche as it gave me a lot of experience, I feel that the children will get more quality attention when in their own home.
