Hello! We looking for a childminder for our 7 year old son, three afternoons per week, at our home in Portobello, Dublin 8. Start date: 1 Sept 2025. Days: Monday - Wednesday. Hours: after school (option for additional hours during school holidays, midterm etc) Salary: competitive rate. The role involves the following: - collect from school (local primary school is 12 minutes’ walk from home) - make lunch - supervise homework (1st class so not a huge amount) - get out and about for a little while weather permitting (playground, walk, library etc) - ensure he tidies his toys after playing and hangs up his school uniform when he changes his clothes. Our son is a very happy, affectionate, curious little man who loves dinosaurs, animals, telling and hearing stories and reading. He is Autistic, which mainly presents now as strong interests in dinosaurs and zoo animals and difficulty with social interaction. He has excellent speech and language and delights in new experiences and people. He has become great friends with the people who have looked after him. Our last wonderful babysitter was with us for 3.5 years and left only after she finished her studies to start her new career. We hope she would say that we are a friendly, easy-going household. Previous experience as an SNA or working with children with additional needs an advantage but all applications considered.
