We are a family of 4 based in Ranelagh, looking to replace our wonderful babysitter who is leaving us to study in Amsterdam. This is a full-time weekday position through yearend. Father works from home and mother is home caring for a newborn. Your job will primarily be looking after a sweet and sensitive 2-year-old boy. This is a very active position that will require a lot of time spent outdoors. You'll take him on daily outings to the park, library, playground, music classes, playgroups, and activities. You'll also feed him snacks and meals, and entertain him at home. We're looking for someone who will play creatively with him...reading stories, doing arts & crafts, building pillow forts, playing sports, doing puzzles, gardening, water play, etc. You must be fun loving, energetic, and kind. You must have abundant patience and an upbeat attitude. Our little boy is VERY shy and sensitive with special needs. He's easily overwhelmed in social settings and requires a carer who will treat him with a soft and gentle touch during challenging times. You must speak very good English and have experience with young toddlers and/or children with special needs. Bonus points if you have experience in the fields of primary education or child psychology. This is NOT a position where you can sit back and supervise. We're looking for someone who will actively play with our son...stimulate, challenge, and nurture him all day long. You must be sweet, loving, and playful. Pay negotiable for the right candidate. Hours will be 8:30am - 5:30pm and you'll get a break (approx 1.5 hours) while he naps midday. We look forward to hearing from you!
