We are seeking an experienced and caring tutor/childminder to support our 6-year-old son, starting around Monday 1st September 2025. The role is based in our home in Dublin 1, near the 3Arena, and will involve working weekdays during the school term from approximately 13:45 to 17:45. Although not a necessity, during school holidays we would ideally like someone who is available for the full day, maybe 09:00 to 17:30, at least for some days in the holiday periods. Our son is autistic and will be entering senior infants in September. He attends a special class within a mainstream primary school and is currently transitioning towards full integration in the mainstream class. His school day runs from 08:50 to 13:30, and he typically arrives home around 14:00. At least one parent will be working from home every day and will be available to provide guidance or support as required. Our son is generally content and becoming increasingly flexible in his activities. He enjoys outings, including travelling on buses, trams and trains. A typical afternoon may include developmental play, light homework, a visit to a playground (or a shopping centre on rainy days), and games at home. Activities may involve walking, cycling or scooting. Applicants will need to have experience working with children, ideally working with autistic children. A relevant qualification such as in Teaching, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, Early Childhood Education, or as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) is essential. Our son has many interests that he likes to discuss in detail so we are looking for someone who engages well with other children/people. We are looking for someone who takes the initiative, is creative, energetic and upbeat, helping to keep our son well regulated. The role includes all statutory entitlements (annual leave, sick pay, etc.), and we offer highly competitive rates, including an annual bonus, depending on experience.
