We want to inquire about care services for my fiancé’s father from July 8th to July 10th, 2026. We will be hosting our wedding at Virginia Park Lodge on July 8th and 9th, and there will be an extra bedroom available on-site for the care provider (free of charge) to stay overnight on those dates. On July 10th, we’ll be in Dublin, where we can provide accommodation in a double queen room (shared with patient) at The Dean for the night if able. The patient is a 75-year-old man, very docile and kind-hearted. He’s originally from Cork and loves to tell jokes. However, he also enjoys drinking and can be quite persuasive about getting “just one more.” For this reason, we would need someone with a strong but kind personality who can firmly say no and keep an eye on him during the wedding festivities to ensure he doesn’t drink from others’ glasses. He has never been aggressive or difficult—just charming and chatty. The main duties would be: July 8, 2026: starting around6PM, watch him at the welcome party and make sure he stays out of trouble and drinks within his limit. Sleep in the cabin with the patient and his wife in your own room. July 9: make sure Alfie is awake and ready for the 3pm ceremony on the property. (He likes to sleep in, so maybe awake by noon and ready by 1 so he can make the 1:45pm pictures). Then we just need to make sure Alfie does not overdrink/ steal other people’s drinks when they look away. Put him to bed around 10:30/11, and sleep in your seperate bedroom in the cottage. July 10: get him awake to take the bus at 11am that will pick us up at the lodge, there will be a spot on the bus for the minder as well. Just hang out for the day the go to third day party with him for a couple hours and then go back to hotel and let him watch tv/ go to bed around 8 or 9. Then sleep over in the double queen room the done at 8am the next day!
