No time wasters please. We are a family based in Carlow seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced assistant to provide home support and companionship for my teenage son, who has autism, including a PDA profile, sensory needs, and anxiety. The primary goal of this role is to support his interests and independence while helping to maintain a calm, positive home environment. Key Responsibilities: ??Companionship & Support: Engaging in low-pressure, supportive activities to foster his independence. ??Routine & Supervision: Being comfortable following established routines and providing steady, understanding supervision. ??Household Support: Assisting with meal preparation or light household tasks to keep our home organized and stress-free. ??Flexible Assistance: initial role will be build up and eventually involve approximately 2-3 hours one evening per week, one weekend a month like a Saturday or Sunday allowing me some essential time to step out locally. Also building it up gradually to over night and weekend in teen house What this role is NOT: This is not a traditional "childminding" or "policing" role. The focus is on assistance and companionship, not surveillance or strict behavioral management. The role does not involve intervening in family dynamics or managing medical instructions, which are handled by me. Candidate Requirements: ??Experience with autism and complex needs is required; experience with a PDA profile is highly valued. ??Fluent English for clear communication and safety. ??Must have a driver’s license.
