We are a warm and friendly family looking for a kind and caring nanny/housekeeper for our two children (aged 2 and almost 5) at our home in Blackrock on a part-time basis (3 – 3.5 days per week) from 17 November 2026. Full days are currently on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (8.30 – 5.45) with a half day on Thursday (1 – 5.45). The role will involve bringing our 2 year old daughter to playgroup (such as Claphandies) once/twice a week, collecting our 4 year old son from school (5 min walk from our home) during term-time and doing simple homework with him, preparing healthy lunches, snacks and dinners for the children (including occasional batch-cooking for them for the freezer), bringing them to the playground, engaging with the children/playing together/doing creative and age-appropriate learning activities at home and light housekeeping activities (such as cleaning up kitchen after children’s mealtimes, tidying away children’s clothes and tidying up after playtime). Willingness to assist with other general housekeeping when you are not with the children would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who will establish a routine and form a caring, friendly relationship with the children, and who is reliable, organized and punctual. Flexibility is also highly valued. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience caring for young toddlers and children, fluent English, Garda vetting (or willingness to be vetted), a first aid certificate and good references. We also have a very friendly, placid small dog so you will need to be comfortable with dogs and happy to bring the dog along to the park some days. She rides underneath the buggy! Full (clean) driving licence would be preferable (but not essential). Any qualifications in childcare would also be highly regarded.
