We are a warm and relaxed family looking for a kind and caring nanny/housekeeper for our two children (aged 18 months and 4) from early/mid-May 2026, in our home in Blackrock. The hours are approximately 40 hours per week and the current arrangement is three longer days (currently Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, typically 8.30 – 6) and two shorter days (currently Monday and Thursday, typically 12.45 – 6.15). We are open to discussions around working pattern but we do need somebody in for three full days whilst I am at work. The role will involve bringing our 1 year old daughter to playgroup (such as Claphandies) once/twice a week, collecting our 4 year old son from Montessori (5 min walk from our home) during term-time, preparing healthy lunches and dinners for the children (including occasional batch-cooking for them for the freezer), bringing them to the playground nearby, engaging with the children/playing together/doing creative and age-appropriate learning activities at home and light housekeeping activities such as cleaning up kitchen after children’s mealtimes, tidying away children’s clothes and tidying up after playtime. Ability to assist with other general housekeeping when you are not with the children would be advantageous. We are looking for someone who will form a caring, friendly relationship with the children, and who is reliable, organised, punctual and interested in working with us long-term. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience caring for young toddlers and children, fluent English, Garda vetting (or willingness to be vetted), a first aid certificate and good references. We also have a very friendly, placid dog so you will need to be comfortable with dogs. Full (clean) driving licence would be preferable (but not essential). Any qualifications in childcare would also be highly regarded.
