Part-Time / or Full-time Home Carer Needed – Leixlip (Near Louisa Bridge) We are looking for a kind, reliable, and experienced carer to support our 84-year-old mother in her home. Hours & Schedule: Minimum need is for 3 days per week, late morning through afternoon (e.g., 11am–6pm). Rotating schedule: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Option for up to 5 days per week for the right candidate if preferred. Flexibility on exact hours can be discussed. Support in place: HSE carers attend daily at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm. Daughter lives nearby (Maynooth), works locally. Family is involved and supportive. Duties include: Assistance with mobility (uses a walker; currently recovering from hip surgery) Help with daily routines (light meals, dressing, gentle prompting. Prompting for meals, hydration, medication, and bathroom breaks. Supervision to ensure safety in the home Companionship and maintaining a calm, reassuring environment. About Penny: Warm, gentle, and enjoys conversation. Early-stage dementia — patience and consistency are very important. Eats and drinks lightly; benefits from regular encouragement. Non-smoker; very occasional glass of wine. Enjoys tea, watching TV, and looking out at the birds, and chatting. Stair lift installed in the home. Location: Leixlip, within walking distance of Louisa Bridge train station and bus routes. Ideal candidate: Experience in elderly care (dementia experience a strong plus). Patient, dependable, and attentive. Comfortable assisting with mobility and recovery. Good awareness of hydration/nutrition needs. References required We are hoping to find someone who will become a steady, trusted presence in her day-to-day life.
