Experienced Live-In Carer Required – Elderly Lady – Co. Laois We are looking for an experienced, kind and reliable live-in carer to care for our 92-year-old mother in the lovely villiage of Killenard, Co. Laois. She is a lovely, gentle lady who needs a high level of support with her daily care. We are looking for someone who will treat her with patience, dignity and compassion and who will become a trusted part of her care team. About her care needs 92 years old Blind frail lady Very limited mobility and requires significant assistance with transfers Requires assistance with personal care, including washing, dressing and changing continence pads Requires help with eating and drinking and encouragement with meals Has diabetes and requires monitoring and awareness of blood sugar levels Can experience periods of confusion/anxiety and needs reassurance and calm companionship Requires someone experienced with elderly and highly dependent clients The carer we are looking for Ideally, you will have: Previous live-in elderly care experience, preferably in Ireland Experience caring for someone with significant mobility difficulties Experience with personal care and continence care Manual handling experience Experience with diabetes would be an advantage QQI/FETAC Level 5 Healthcare qualification would be desirable Good spoken English References from previous employers Garda vetting or willingness to obtain it The legal right to work in Ireland We would particularly welcome applications from Filipina carers/nurses with Irish care experience, although all suitably experienced applicants will be considered. Accommodation A private self contained apt/bedroom, food included and a suitable accommodation will be provided in the family home. This is a position for someone who genuinely enjoys caring for elderly people and would like to build a long-term relationship with the person they care for.
