I am looking for a kind, reliable and patient childminder to care for my 4-year-old son, Jake, for a few hours in the afternoons on set days each week (e.g. Mondays and Thursdays). Jake is autistic and non-verbal, so I’m looking for someone who either has experience with additional needs (especially autism), or is open, calm and willing to learn. He is a lovely, energetic child who enjoys play, movement and sensory activities, but can become frustrated at times due to communication challenges. The right person will: * Be warm, patient and understanding * Have experience with (or a genuine interest in) supporting children with additional needs * Be comfortable following simple routines and guidance * Be able to stay calm and supportive if Jake becomes dysregulated * Ideally have their own transport Duties will mainly involve: * Collecting Jake and minding him at home * Engaging him in play and activities (especially active/sensory play) * Supporting his routine in a consistent and caring way This role would suit someone who is compassionate, dependable and enjoys working with children who may need a little extra support.
