Housekeeper – Job Specification Location: Mount Merrion, Dublin Hours: 12–16 hours per week, ideally across at least 4 days Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience About the Role We are looking for a reliable, organised and motivated Housekeeper to help keep our family home clean, comfortable and running smoothly. The role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, is proactive and enjoys working in a family environment. We are looking for someone who can manage their responsibilities independently, while also being friendly, approachable and comfortable around children. Key Responsibilities Housekeeping • General cleaning and upkeep of the house, including: • Vacuuming and mopping floors • Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens • Dusting and polishing • Keeping living areas tidy and well presented • Changing bed linen and towels on a weekly basis • Laundry, including washing, drying, folding and ironing • Carrying out deeper cleans of particular areas of the house from time to time • Noticing and taking care of household tasks that need attention without always being asked Cooking & Food • Preparing healthy, family-friendly meals • Helping with meal planning and making good use of ingredients available • Managing food deliveries and putting groceries away • Keeping the kitchen organised and running smoothly Errands & Household Organisation • Occasional errands and household-related tasks • Helping coordinate deliveries and other household services • Keeping an eye on household supplies and letting the family know when items need to be replenished • Generally helping the household run efficiently and taking initiative where needed. Key Attributes & Experience We are looking for someone who is: • Organised and efficient, with good attention to detail • Proactive and motivated, with the initiative to identify what needs doing • Reliable, trustworthy and takes pride in their work • Friendly and personable, with a positive attitude • Comfortable and confident around children and families • A good communicator with good spoken English • Able to work independently and manage their time effectively • Flexible and willing to help with a variety of household tasks • Experienced in housekeeping, domestic work or a similar role Previous experience working as a housekeeper in a private family home would be an advantage. Hours & Salary We would ideally like someone to work 12–16 hours per week across at least 4 days, with some flexibility around the exact days and hours. Salary is negotiable and will depend on experience and suitability for the role. We are looking for someone who would ideally like to become a trusted and valued part of the household for the longer term.
