I’m looking for carers to support my 82-year-old father when he leaves hospital after hip surgery. He’ll be moving into his new home in Athy, Co. Kildare, with family living nearby. He has some difficulty with his balance and will likely need help getting around the house, washing and dressing, and preparing meals while he recovers. We’re hoping to arrange round-the-clock care for the first week or two, with daytime, evening and overnight shifts shared between several carers. The start date will depend on when he’s discharged from hospital. If you have experience supporting older people at home after surgery or a hospital stay, I’d be happy to hear from you.
