We are a family of four. Seamus & Gillian & Arwen (11 years) and Emmet (14 years). Seamus works in finance from home sometimes but is in London every week for three days. I work in a law firm. Arwen is in primary school and Emmet is in secondary school. We have a lovely little Yorkshire Terrier called "Mindy" and a fish called "Blue". We like to spend time swimming, camping and rowing. Since our kids are getting older the au pair's main task is to drive the kids to various events in the afternoons, walk the dog Mindy and to prepare some meals. The most important thing for us is that the au pair is a good driver. Arwen walks to the local school but Emmet’s school is about 5 km away. He sometimes gets driven there or sometimes gets driven to a bus at 7.35am (depending on the weather). After the kids are in school the au pair is generally free until 2:15pm when Arwen’s school finishes. The au pair normally makes Arwen’s lunch when she comes home from school. Gillian does not work on Friday so the au pair has Friday, Saturday and Sunday off (with the exception of babysitting on the Saturday night and one babysitting night during the week). We are flexible if you need to go away for a weekend. In terms of housework we expect the au pair to keep the house clean particularly the kitchen but we have a cleaner that comes in once a week. The one thing that we do ask the au pair to do is the ironing as the cleaner does not have time to do both. It would be great if the au pair is a good cook but it is not necessary. We can show you how to make some simple meals. We get the au pair to make dinner four times a week but it does not take very long. This changes over the summer when the kids are off school and in camps. Thanks!
