Childminder wanted to care for 3 children in the Blackrock area: • Term time – 3pm to 5:30-6:30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday optional • School Holidays - 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday for 5-6 weeks over the summer, 3 days over each midterm and 3-5 days over Easter and Christmas. Overview of the position • We are looking for a child minder to care for 3 children at our house, with the primary focus being on our youngest child, aged 5. He has an intellectual disability and attends a specialist school but is a happy, gentle, affectionate child to mind. The other children are aged 10 and 12 and their main requirement is for some company and adult supervision. We are especially seeking someone who enjoys playing and interacting with children and has an interest in special needs development. • The typical routine for the youngest child would include meeting him off the school bus, playing with him, feeding him, changing him, helping him with the toilet, and helping him with his communication and play skills during these activities. • The typical routine for the older children would be collecting them from school and/or afterschool activities, supervising homework, feeding them, chatting to them and playing with them (e.g. board games, baking etc), preparing school lunches. • No heavy housework is needed and we aim to provide a happy, friendly work environment for the person who takes this position. • A car is useful but not essential.
