LIVE-IN CARER required to provide companionship and light care to an elderly man in his home in Wicklow Town. Assistance with making meals, accompanying for outings, occasional game of draughts, watching evening television together and light housekeeping. Generous accommodation available in the house upstairs, the gentleman sleeps downstairs. The gentleman is 83, is fully able to go out and about and likes his routine. He experiences anxiety at times and good routine and reassurance is needed. There is also a regular carer from the HSE coming for one hour per day to assist with personal care, this is never asked of the life-in carer to allow for relationship to stay based on companionship and to protect dignity. €22,000 pa and 20 holiday days per year, food and energy bill included and accommodation indeed. They also managed to study online as the hours/days of work allow for a lot of time to study during the day (when gentlemanbus asleep or when family member takes over as arranged).
