JOB ALERT: Job type: •2 Full-time carers or more needed (hours and days can be divided as suits between 2 or more carers) Start date: •ASAP (or when the carer can start as soon as possible. She is still in hospital and we are just getting the house ready for her) Location •Castleisland town Time frame: longterm Job description: •providing care for a lady •moving person from bed to chair using a hoist. •Helping the person wash and dress. •Helping the person use a toilet. •Food shopping, prepping and cooking the person’s food following a set meal plan set by the family and her nutritionist. •Helping with physical exercises. •Ensuring they take their medication. •Giving the person massages. •Keeping the person company. •Keeping them motivated and calm. Benefits •Excellent salary •If desired fully furnished separate 2 bedroom detached house, parking space, garage and garden. •We don't need someone to stay overnight Hours •Hours and days very negotiable but Monday to Sunday set hours and shift work in rotation with other carers. •Does not have to work evenings/weekends etc if not desired. Job requirements •Would really need to be a physically able, fit and experienced carer •Would be great if have experience of dealing with people who are newly bed bound and who may have sudden onset potential vascular dementia. The patient has been diagnosed with amyloid angiopathy (brain condition causing silent strokes) and collapsed and had to go into hospital several weeks ago. Seemed pretty normal before hospital admission. Blood pressure is now under control and has good cognitive function, good motor control, may be incontinent and have temporary or permanent paralysis. Sight also blurry. Eating regular solid food and is no longer confused. Can have regular conversations.
