Hi there! I have a masters degree in speech and language therapy. I completed my masters in the UK and spent two years working in community paediatric speech and language therapy in NHS Scotland. I have returned home to Cork and while my Irish Coru speech therapist registration is in process, which can take quite a few months, I am available for any and all care needs! My preference would be for full time or near full time work. In addition to my masters in speech and language therapy, I also have a first class honours degree in early years and childhood studies from UCC. Prior to completing my masters, I worked in a creche as a room leader and preschool teacher. I also have extensive child minding experience from 4 months all the way up! References available upon request. In addition, while I lived in Scotland I worked part time as a dog walker and dog sitter. I built up an extensive client base and again can provide references upon request. Working with children is my passion, and child centred care is extremely important to me. Child voice and agency is at the centre of every interaction I have with a child, whether that be through verbal or non verbals means. I’m sure it comes as no surprise that I have a particular interest around speech and communication needs! Amazing lady
Aoife recently minded my daughter with special needs and to say she was amazing is an underestimation. When I came back my daughter was so happy and had so much fun with Aoife. She had had a brilliant time and Aoife had gone to great lengths to work with her needs and provide me with lots of interesting observations and information due to her higher level of training in this field. Will not be hesitating to use Aoife again and am really happy to recommend to anyone considering using Aoife.
