Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Dinara. I am originally from Lithuania but have lived for the past 23 years in South Africa. Two years ago I have returned to EU /Ireland and working as Palliative /respite care nurse and continuing my education in psychology. I have obtained my qualification in home-based Palliative and End-of-life nursing care from the Hospice Association of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. I have worked in the Hospice Wits Patient Unit and home care since 2020, and I am a highly skilled nurse who is compassionate, respectful, and understanding of each individual's specific needs. I chose hospice and palliative nursing care because of my passion to end human suffering and their fundamental understanding of palliative care and patients rights.I also love being a nurse because I know I am making a difference in people's lives.Big or small, every task is important to the person I am taking care of. This sense of accomplishment is very rewarding and helps shape a positive coping mechanism for when I feel particularly challenged by the job. Knowing that I make a difference gives me a greater sense of purpose and deeper meaning in life. Being palliative care nurse helps me to grow, gives me confidence in my own abilities, makes me feel connected to a deeper sense of purpose, and helps me develop a more holistic perspective on life. I feel a profound sense of gratitude for my own life or hold the belief that I have a gift to share with others. My mission: To create comfort and peace through highly skilled, compassionate care and service in a respectful and dignified manner.
