Hi Families, my name is Alexa and I am South African. I am currently a first year, studying Occupational Therapy. I am a very outgoing, caring and compassionate person. Being an older sister has taught me responsibility, patience and good communication skills. I am especially creative which I believe can help me to engage children in more imaginative activities. As part of my course in college, I have been volunteering with autistic children ages 4 to 11, with a company called AsIAm. During this time, I do a variety of active play-based activities to form relationships with them. Furthermore, I have worked as an assistant tennis coach with children aged [removed]. Finally, I also worked as a live-in aupair last summer for a family I met through AupairWorld who had boy and a girl aged 9 and 11. Knowing that I would like to work with children one day, childminding would be an incredible opportunity for me. Not only would I learn so much but I would have the chance to do something I am really passionate about. Furthermore, I had such a positive experience working as an aupair last summer and would love the chance to do something like it again.
