I come from a big family and, as the oldest of all cousins and siblings, I’ve always naturally taken on the role of caring for younger ones. I started babysitting when I was 16, first looking after the children of my parents’ friends. As word spread, I began receiving calls from other families in my town, and soon I was regularly caring for children between the ages of 3 and 10, often looking after groups of 2 to 5 kids at a time. Later on, I worked exclusively for a family with two children aged 3 and 8, caring for them every day for about 7 hours. I also looked after my younger cousins, who are now 4 and 2 years old, until about a year ago. I’ve always loved planning fun, active days with the children I care for — especially outdoor play and sports, but also inside activities as reading or cooking. During the summer, we spent a lot of time in the pool, but I also made sure to include creative and educational activities. I enjoy cooking and always prepared their meals with care and variety.
