Hello, I am a qualified post-primary MFL teacher with experience working part-time as an on-call and after-school babysitter during my studies, including occasional weekend babysitting. I mainly have experience with children of 2 and 5 - 6 years old, boys and girls. I enjoy spending time with children, playing together, going for walks, going to the playgrounds or the beach when the weather is nice. Once I’ll build a good connection with children (which often just takes a bit of time), it will be easy and I’m happy when they enjoy playing without screens. As a teacher, I understand how challenging it can be for parents and educators to manage screen time, so I always try to suggest fun, creative activities that don’t involve devices. I can also help with their homework and prepare a simple meal. *Just to clarify: While I support children during homework time and help with small tasks like preparing their homework area or checking their homework journal, tutoring is a separate service for me. (Tutoring is a separate service for me. If a child requires structured academic support or is struggling with school subjects, this is considered tutoring, which I offer at a different rate. I provide tutoring on a one-to-one basis only, with no other children under my supervision at the same time. In the past, I have worked with children with learning difficulties, which required my full attention and a focused, personalised approach.) I also offer grinds in the two languages I am qualified to teach at both JC and LC level and my rates change depending on the level. Ideally, I’m looking for another family with whom I can work on fixed days or regular weekend hours. If you need someone to pick up your child or children in the afternoons 2 -3 days a week, provide after-school care around Portmarnock or offer reliable last-minute evening or overnight cover, I believe we could be a great match.
