My experience as a babysitter began with my nephews. When my youngest nephew was born, my cousin didn’t have anyone to look after her baby and luckily for everyone, I was on a gap year so I had both the time and the willingness to take care of him. He was only six months old and I was in charge of giving him his bottles on time, rocking him to sleep and taking care of everything necessary for his well-being. As he grew older, I continued with my studies but I always made time to take care of him after school. Later on, my cousin recommended me as a babysitter to her friends who had children, and that basically became my first job. I dedicated myself to it for at least five years and then I started working in a more formal setting. Taking care of and spending time with children for several years taught me many things through them, especially patience, creativity, and affection. It also allowed me to see the world from a completely different perspective: one full of happiness and freedom. They discover the world in their own way and at their own pace which makes their learning process unique and fascinating. What I love most about caring for children is how they share their energy, their curiosity, and their love for learning. Every day is an opportunity to discover something new, about them and about yourself. It would be a great honor to earn your trust in caring for your children, as having this opportunity would truly be a joy for me.
