My name is Colm. I am from Athlone. I am 46 years of age. I am a graduate engineer of NUI Galway (2004). Since 2017, I have worked extensively as a live-in carer and domicillary carer across England and Scotland , providing care to adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, dementia, end-of-life care needs, and complex medical conditions. Through eight years of hands-on experience, I have worked across every care model: charities, large commercial agencies, introductory care agencies, regulated services, care homes, and direct private employment by families. This comprehensive experience has given me clear insight into what constitutes high-quality, well-managed care and what leads to poor outcomes for clients. I have supported adults with conditions including muscular dystrophy, Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injuries, stroke, and severe dementia.
