About SixtineBack to Top
Dear family, I'm looking for a new host family. I'm already in Ireland, in Co.Louth, near Dublin. I’m Sixtine, a French woman of 27 years, l live in the North of France, at 1 hour of Paris. I’ve left my job after 3 years as a Communication Officer in a French company. I would like to take advantage of my situation and my young age to go and live abroad for approximately 1 year to improve my English, ideally become bilingual, and thus have more opportunities for a job when I return to France. My family My mother Christine is 60 years old and is an accountant. My father Marcel is 65 years old and was a painter, he is retired now. They live in the North of France too, in « Étalon », a small village at 1 hour of Paris and Lille. My sister Marine is 35 years old and is a police officer at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and she lives just near job. My boyfriend recently left me. This experience abroad would allow me to find myself again, to be alone far from France, independent, and to start anew. I have an adorable guinea pig named Uby. My personality I'm a very cheerful and smiling person. I'm perfectionist, attentive, calm but sometimes crazy, discreet, funny, resourceful. I'm always ready to help when needed, but I also know how to take initiative. I love meeting new people and chat. I want to considered my host family like my own. My education I have an Assistant Manager (BTS and Licence) and Communication Digital & Marketing (Master) diplomas and also the certificate of fitness for the functions of animator (BAFA). I'm volunteer in several associations (notably Rotaract) because I like organizing events, helping others and playing my role as Communication Officer. My hobbies Every Monday night I go to step and every Thursday night I go to Zumba. I spend my other free time walking, hiking, go to shows/concerts/plays, dance, doing puzzles and coloring, trips with my family (Spain, Italy, Crete, England, Cyprus, Malta, Ireland, Tunisia, Germany, Denmark, Nepal). I'm just starting to learn sewing. And after my experience abroad, I want to learn the drums and accordion. My babysitting experience I have the certificate of fitness for the functions of animator (BAFA in French) to work in children's activity centre. When I worked at a children's activity centre, I babysat children aged 3-5. I've already babysit children (approximatively ages [removed]) to help out parents who are my friends. I have experience with an Irish autistic child. My language skills My native language is French. I speak English. I'm very good at understanding English and I am constantly improving my oral expression. I speak a little bit Spanish, learned at school. I travel extensively and want to improve my English for both professional and personal use. Why become an au pair? I love children. I think the best way to become bilingual is to spend time with them. They speak more slowly than adults and use simple vocabulary, which can enrich my own. My expectations I hope to establish a relationship of trust with my host family. I would like to be treat as real one of the family. I want to spend time with my host family (also weekend sometimes) And I hope to stay in contact with them all the life. I will be delighted to introduce them to France and help them learn French if they wish. At the beginning, I will be grateful if you help me to find local friends/au pairs. Additional Information The only thing you should know about me is that I have asthma, so I have allergies (but not matter). Oh no! Also that I have a phobia of spiders. I eat everything ; I'm not picky. I love food and I can't wait to try your dishes! I have my driving license and I'm perfectly comfortable driving in France, but I'm not confident about driving on Irish roads 😂 I think I'll just need some time to adapt to Irish roads. And I'm at ease in English. But same, I just need a time of adaptation and transition between French/English. Alongside being an au pair, I think that I will take language courses, danse courses, and could perhaps have an other job (petsitter for example) in my free time to earn more money.
