Hi everyone, I am Maria, 26 years old and from Germany. I have been living in Ireland for the past 1.5 years and currently looking to find a lovely family to work with. I love cooking and have a strong interest in popculture and the arts. In my free time I enjoy meeting with friends, going for walks in the forest and catching up on the latest news. I also love to develop creative skills and regularly join workshops on collaging, upcycling. A bit about my experience: Since I was 10 years old I have continuously worked with children and young people. First I started out with weekly babysitting jobs for children aged 2-6 and later up to the age of 12. Throughout 2021 and 2022 I continued working as a babysitter on the side of my studies for two 9 and 11 year olds. This set me up for my professional role as a caretaker/nanny in 2020. In the height of the Covid-19 pandemic I took care of 3 siblings aged 1.5, 1.5 (twins) and 3.5, while their parents were at work. In 2018 I started volunteering as a summer camp counsellor. During the annual summer camp I run outdoor and arts- & crafts activities while supervising teenagers. Since 2024 I am the co-director of our team. As part of an exchange program during my undergrad I took courses in social work and youth and community work at UCC. After completing my degree I worked as Youth Work Assistant between March and October of 2025. While my job has ended, I still continue to volunteer regularly with the Cork City Youth Council. At the moment I am studying Global Youth Work and Development Education part time and would like to work as a Babysitter on the side. I am currently babysitting for a family 2 nights a week and have plenty of more spare time. I also have experience as a dogwalker if required, as I took care of a Labrador Retriever when I first moved to Cork. During my first 4 months in Cork I lived with a family whose son has autism and needed someone to always be at the house. So sometimes I would watch him. I do not have a lot of experience working with children with additional needs but I am super eager to learn. I am Garda Vetted.
