Hello! My name is Sophia, I am 22 years old and I am from Brazil. I am fluent in Portuguese and I also have Luxembourg European citizenship. I recently moved to Ireland for a 6-month exchange to study English and experience a new culture. I arrived in February. In Brazil, I study Public Administration at the State University. I truly love children, and they usually feel very comfortable and happy around me. I have two little cousins, one is 2 years old and the other is 9 months old, and I have experience helping to take care of them. Spending time with them has taught me a a lot about patience, attention and how to entertain and care for little ones. In Brazil, I also participated in volunteer work with children. I volunteered at an early childhood school called Educandário, where I helped with activities and spent time with the children. I also did volunteer visits at AVOS, an NGO located at the Children’s Hospital in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. AVOS supports families with children who have cancer and who come from other cities and cannot afford to stay in large cities during treatment. The organization offers them a place to stay and support while the children receive medical care. I consider myself a dedicated, positive and caring person. I am friendly, calm and full of positive energy, and I always try to bring a light and happy environment wherever I go. My English level is elementary (A2), but I am always motivated to improve every day. Even with my current level, I have a natural ability to connect with children, entertain them and make them feel comfortable and safe. Currently, I study English from Monday to Thursday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Because of that, I am available in the mornings, after 5:00 PM, all day on Fridays, and on weekends.
