My journey in childcare began when I was 18 years old, working full-time as a nanny in a private household where I cared for three children aged 11, 7, and 2. In that role, I supported the family with a wide range of daily responsibilities, including school and class drop-offs, preparing meals, feeding, organising routines, travelling with the family, and helping with many other duties connected to the children’s care and wellbeing. Later, I continued my nanny experience in Vicenza, Italy, where I worked with families from the American military community, caring for children from newborn age to 4 years old. This gave me valuable experience with babies and toddlers, including feeding, hygiene, naps, playtime, safety, and creating a calm and nurturing environment for very young children. After that, I developed my experience with children further as an English teacher in Brazil, working with children, teenagers, and adults. Teaching helped me strengthen my patience, communication, creativity, and ability to adapt to different ages, personalities, and needs. Since moving to Dublin, I have continued building a strong career in childcare. I have worked as an Afterschool Leader and later as an Afterschool Manager, supporting preschool and school-aged children in a structured childcare environment. These roles have allowed me to develop strong skills in safeguarding, daily routines, activity planning, communication with parents, behaviour support, and team leadership. I also worked for one year with an Irish family in Dublin, caring for an 8-month-old baby and a 3-year-old child. I supported their morning routine, including breakfast, feeding, dressing, hygiene, and nursery/daycare drop-offs, always aiming to provide a warm, safe, and organised start to the children’s day. I believe I would be a great nanny because I bring many years of hands-on experience with babies, toddlers, preschool children, school-aged children, and teenagers. I am calm, caring, reliable, and professional, and I understand how important it is for families to trust the person caring for their children. I enjoy creating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and happy. My background as a nanny, teacher, afterschool leader, and childcare manager has given me a strong understanding of children’s routines, development, communication, safety, and emotional wellbeing.
