Hello! My name is Erika, and I am a Canadian university student currently completing a Bachelor of Education with teachables in English and the Fine Arts. I am available to work in Ireland from June to September. Because I am a teacher in training, I am passionate about working with children and am constantly looking for more hands-on experience! I grew up with cancer in my household which has also led to a special interest in working with children who are physically ill and/or suffering from neurodivergence or impairments. My mother is Dutch so I have been fortunate to grow up in a bilingual environment, and I have 2 passports, making me eligible to work within the EU! A large portion of my childhood was spent on a farm in Quebec with limited internet access. Because of this, I also take care of animals, and I am independent and adaptable to my surroundings. I am also an aunt to four children so I have a lot of hands-on experience caring for babies, toddlers, children, and teenagers. In addition to regular babysitting, I have completed two of my four teaching practicums through my teaching degree, where I work closely with children, creating and organizing lesson plans and teaching in the classroom. I have also coordinated, and led birthday parties and children’s events at venues and hospitals.
