I have many years of experience in working with elderly people .I am a retired professional with excellent communication skills and I enjoy the company of the jewels of our society. I am caring and kind and patience is one of my strengths .I am discrete and respect confidentiality..I am particularly interested in providing companionship enabling individuals to socialise,weekly .I feel there is a need for a service which enables our elderly, mobile but lonely be given an opportunity to meet friends ,go out for coffee/mass ,smell the sea or go for a spin to brighten their day and stimulate positive mental health .I have 37 years experience of working with people and encouraging positive mental health, social interaction and communication .This may involve accompanying the individuals to appointments or to activities clubs or engaging in physical activity .

I have been a PE/Social skills/Personal Development teacher for the past 38 yrs .I have brought my students to local nursing homes each year for 8 wk blocks to encourage interaction between the youth and the elderly .I also entertained these groups in three different nursing homes on numerous occasions will also organising activities and events .I cared for my in-laws both who suffered with dementia and my mother who suffered from Parkinsons for 18yrs .I was responsible for the First Aid in my school. I value communication and a positive attitude .
