Hi, my name is Kinsley! I’m a 19-year-old international student from Anchorage, Alaska, currently studying English, Classics, and History at University College Dublin. I have been working with children for around five years, and childcare is something I genuinely enjoy and take a lot of pride in. My experience includes babysitting, pet care, and cleaning, as well as working in structured childcare and educational settings. I previously worked as Program Staff with Camp Fire Alaska, where I helped care for primary school-aged children in a before- and after-school programme. I facilitated activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, and structured play, while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. I have also worked as a teacher’s aide in an elementary school, where I assisted with classroom activities, student supervision, lunch and recess, and individual learning activities. I have also spent several years working as a swim instructor, teaching and supervising children in and around the pool while prioritising safety and creating a positive, encouraging environment. These experiences have taught me to be patient, attentive, adaptable, and calm, while also knowing when to take initiative and when to ask for guidance. I hold Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, as well as lifeguard, health and safety, and mandatory reporter certifications. Most importantly, I genuinely love spending time with children. I believe childcare should be more than simply keeping children occupied — I want the time we spend together to be fun, engaging, creative, and, where possible, educational. Whether that means playing outside, helping with homework, getting creative with an activity, reading together, or simply being there to listen, I’m happy to meet children where they are and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I also understand that every family is different. I would love to build a positive relationship not only with the children I care for, but with their parents and guardians as well. I’m happy to learn your family’s routines, preferences, expectations, and individual needs so that I can provide care that feels consistent and reassuring for everyone.
