Harvard Graduate and University Lecturer offering French and Irish grinds -Leaving Cert, Junior Cert, University and Adult Learners - Dublin and Online. 8A1s (H1s) in Leaving Cert. Rate: €50/hour (French), €40/hour (Irish) I’m a very experienced, patient and engaging language teacher, skilled at helping students build confidence and achieve the best results they can. I have experience teaching learners of all ages, including neurodivergent students and students with additional learning needs. French I'm fully fluent in French with 15 years' experience teaching French at Junior Cert, Leaving Cert and university level. I hold the DALF C2 qualification (the highest official French language qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education) and have studied, lived and worked in France and other Francophone countries. I teach Medical French at the University of Galway as well as on an annual course run by the Anglo-French Medical Society at the Université Catholique de Lille. I also hold a Professional Diploma in Medical French. I have privately tutored students studying French at university in Ireland and have successfully helped them pass their final year degree exams, in addition to helping many students obtain H1s in Leaving Cert French. I particularly enjoy helping students develop their spoken French, pronunciation, grammar and written expression, as well as improving their exam technique. I'm also skilled at creating personalised study notes and sample oral answers for the Leaving Cert. Irish I also offer Irish tuition for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students, as well as for adult learners who would like to improve their spoken or written Irish. I achieved an A1 (H1-equivalent) in Higher Level Irish in the Leaving Certificate and have maintained a very high level of spoken and written Irish since then. I have experience giving Irish grinds to Leaving Cert students and have also taught Irish internationally to adult learners through italki. I have a particularly strong knowledge of Connemara Irish and place a strong emphasis on helping students develop natural, confident spoken Irish and native-like pronunciation. For Leaving Cert students, I can help them move beyond memorised answers and develop the pronunciation, idiomatic language and fluency that can help them distinguish themselves in the oral examination. I also have a strong interest in making Irish grammar clear and accessible. I have created online teaching resources on Irish grammar, including a YouTube lesson on the Modh Coinníollach which has become the most-watched video on the topic. I can provide personalised notes, grammar explanations, oral material and sample answers tailored to the individual student's level and goals. Irish is also a language I use actively outside the classroom. I have spoken regularly on Irish-language media and have presented professional and academic work through Irish at conferences and public events. Whether a student is aiming for a H1, struggling with grammar or the oral exam, or simply wants to speak Irish more naturally and confidently, I tailor lessons closely to their individual needs. Study Skills I also enjoy teaching study skills and time management skills to students of any age and background.
